New developments and optimizations for FUTURA Smart Version 2.8 | June 2026
📢 New developments and optimizations for version 2.8
We are pleased to introduce you to the latest version of FUTURA Smart 2.8. With this release, we are placing a strong focus on GAEB compliance and improved user guidance.
Item lists
GAEB Integration
Automatically transfer item numbers when importing GAEB
From now on, when importing a GAEB file, the item numbers of each item list element – i.e. titles, items and lots – are read directly and stored in the database. In addition, the underlying GAEB item number scheme is taken from the file, so that newly created titles and items automatically receive matching item numbers. The item list is marked as GAEB-compliant. You benefit from consistently standardized numbering without manual post-processing effort.
Item lists
GAEB Integration
Automatic item number renumbering when changes are made to the item list
If you manually create new titles or items, the system automatically assigns a valid item number based on the active numbering scheme. If the schema no longer offers free places at the affected hierarchy level, you will be informed transparently and can expand the schema – including automatic renumbering of the entire list. When deleting elements, the renumbering of the subsequent elements on the same level is also fully automatic. This means that your item list remains complete and GAEB-compliant at all times.
Item lists
GAEB Integration
GAEB X83/X84 replacement for suppliers
Suppliers can now download the tendered item lists directly as a GAEB X83 file in order to edit it in their calculation program.
The priced quotation can then be imported as a GAEB X84 file. The assignment is automatic based on the item number – only prices are transferred. The item list, texts, quantities, and units remain unchanged. This function complements the existing Excel import with an industry-standard GAEB workflow and significantly accelerates quotation processing. In this way, you can quotation your business partners a fully standardized, GAEB-compliant exchange channel – professionally, in accordance with standards and efficiently.
Reporting
New evaluation criterion
New column "Department (Creator)" in Event Reporting
You now have the option to display the new "Department (Creator)" column in Event Reporting. This allows you to analyze issues by the creator's department, filter them (using the "equals" and "not equals" operators), and include them in the Excel export. The column is hidden by default and can be activated at any time via the column selector – for maximum flexibility in your reporting configuration.
Auto-fill rules
Optimized display
Improved display of auto-fill rules
The display of material groups and buyer groups in the auto-fill rules has been optimized. Selected values are now displayed as compact chips – with a "+X more" indicator for many entries. The field height remains constant, and in edit mode, you can still fully manage all entries. The result: a much tidier and clearer interface.
Price comparison list
Save layout in browser
Save preferred layout of the price comparison list
Your preferred view in the price comparison list (standard or horizontal) is now saved in the browser. The next time you open any price comparison list – regardless of the process – the last selected display is automatically loaded. This means that you can immediately continue working in your familiar environment without having to switch gears every time.
Handlings in UI
Operation by ComboBox
Uniform filter operation through ComboBox
All drop-down filters have been switched to a unified ComboBox component. You benefit from consistent filter operation with integrated search function across the entire application – find what you are looking for faster.
Handlings in UI
Formatting instructions
Transparent formatting hints in forms
Input fields that require a specific format now show you clear indications of the expected input format directly on the field. This will help you avoid input errors right from the start and save valuable time.
Handlings in UI
Mandatory fields
Clear marking of mandatory fields
The marking of mandatory and optional fields has been standardized in all forms. Each form now contains a clear explanation of the Asterisk marking – uniformly positioned and formulated in an understandable way. This way, you know at a glance what information is required.
RFX Cockpit
New Module
Unified RFX Cockpit BFF
With version 2.8, we are laying the foundation for a unified RFX Cockpit that will bring together the creation and management of RFQ, RFI and RFP in a central component in the future. This architectural advancement enables more consistent process control, reduced complexity, and faster advancements – so you can continue to benefit from an agile and powerful system in the future.
