New developments and optimizations for FUTURA Smart version 1.23 | April 2025
📢 New developments and optimizations for version 1.23
Item Hierarchies Item list structuring according to Lean Services from SAP
SAP is strategically replacing MM-SRV via Lean Services with Item Hierarchies. This is a new data model from SAP that was introduced with S/4HANA to display services in a hierarchical structure. SAP recommends using Lean Services when converting to S/4HANA. This will be a challenge for construction RFQs including GAEB format previously used in MM-SRV.
Despite these SAP restrictions, we have dealt intensively with this topic and developed a solution for a GAEB compatibility for this version 1.23, so that the structured RFQs and the exchange of item lists can continue to be used in the construction area. SAP implementation partners have confirmed that FUTURA Smart is the only e-sourcing solution on the market right now that supports item hierarchies and can process GAEB functionalities.
To use this feature, a corresponding business function is required in SAP. Please contact your administrator for FUTURA Smart if required.
When creating your item list, select Activate item hierarchies in the Items tab from the button bar.
On the left-hand editing area, you then have the functions and options of structuring your items list in the usual GAEB manner with up to 4 titles and services.
The structured item list with hierarchies were also taken into account for the available PDF prints on your and supplier's side. This also includes the price comparison list for the evaluation.
As usual, you can also create the items list using the Excel import template and import it into FUTURA Smart. For this purpose, we have prepared the import template for you by including 4 title levels.
Purchase orders and contracts Creating purchase orders and contracts in SAP with item hierarchies
The new item hierarchies are now also taken into account when creating purchase orders and contracts in SAP. Therefore, you can have your structured item list with the hierarchy numbers automatically generated from SAP and all other information, including the quotation prices from your suppliers.
You can now edit several fields directly in the grid of the item list without opening the item detail window. Create a new item list (manually or via import) or revise an existing item list by maintaining or revising the editable fields short description, quantity and the calculated unit price directly in the grid.
